Nilcema Figueiredo

Nilcema Figueiredo is an Associate Professor of the Academic Area of Public Health at the Federal University of Pernambuco (2009-). She graduated in Dentistry (1996). She achieved a Specialist in Public Health Residency in 2001, a Masters in 2004 and a Doctorate in Public Health from University of Pernambuco in 2008. She was a Specialist in Health Informatics from Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte in 2022 and a Specialist in Digital Health from Federal University of Goiás in 2023. Nilcema has gained experience in public management in the cities of Moreno (2000-2001) and Recife (2001-2008).
She has further experience in university management (2016-2020) at Federal University of Pernambuco. She coordinates research, teaching extension programs/actions in the areas: Policy, Planning and Evaluation of health services and programs, oral health surveillance and digital health. She was deputy national coordinator of the external evaluation of the Program to Improve Access and Quality of Dental Specialty Centers (PMAQ/CEO) (2011-2020). She currently coordinates a digital health project to analyze the use of the web-based platform GestBucalSD.
Nilcema contributes to CORE research as part of the Local Programme Development Group in Brazil.
