Camila Reyes Cañón

Camila is a Colombian dentist with experience in oral health promotion, epidemiological surveillance, and oral health services management. She holds a BSc in Dentistry and a Postgraduate Diploma in Public Health Management from the National University of Colombia.

She worked in clinical and public health settings in Colombia, including the implementation of oral health programmes, health promotion and disease prevention initiatives, and epidemiological surveillance of communicable and non-communicable diseases.

Currently, Camila is pursuing an MSc in Dental Public Health at University College London (UCL) as a scholar of the CORE Programme. Her research interests include the commercial determinants of health, oral health inequalities, access to oral healthcare, and public health policy, with a particular focus on underserved populations. Her master's research examines the corporate political activity (CPA) of the ultra-processed food and drink (UPFD) industry in Colombia, using a qualitative comparative approach. She intends to continue working with underserved populations to reduce health inequalities and to contribute to research informing public health policy.
